About me
I am a Lexingtonian and have practiced law for over four decades. I earned my bachelor's degree and law degree at the University of Kentucky. I also have an advanced law degree, a Master of Laws, from George Washington University.

I began as an Air Force JAG officer with positions as a prosecutor and defense counsel in dozens and dozens of trials. I also served as an international law specialist in the Philippines and Spain and concluded my military career as an instructor of law and division director at the Air Force JAG School. I retired from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel.

Returning to my home state, I worked for Kentucky’s Attorney General as an assistant attorney general (AAG). For nearly eight years I wrote appellate briefs and presented oral arguments to the Kentucky Court of Appeals and the Kentucky Supreme Court. I successfully argued two cases before the nation’s second highest level of appellate courts, in particular, to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
I later joined the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs eventually becoming the General Counsel. One of my primary jobs was to advocate for my agency in cases brought before the Kentucky Personnel Board. I also presented draft proposals for legislation to protect veterans’ rights and saw them enacted into law.

I spent a total of twenty-three years in state government that included two years as a public advocate (public defender) before opening my own law office in Lexington.
As a solo practitioner, my job as an attorney is to devote myself to each and every individual client. My office motto is a simple one: “I serve you.”
